Over the past several months as more and more men have discovered The Temple website and have followed me on Twitter (@father_marc), the questions have been asked and the implications have been made that The Temple is – or might be – part of some Satanic group or cult. Many are drawn to this aspect. Many flee from it. And often men wonder what my standing is on the subject. I think it is time that this is addressed, openly and honestly.
Let me be clear in saying…I believe Cock – the Phallus – came first. He is the creator of all! He was seen as God prior to anything else – and was worshipped and revered in that way! There is evidence of this as far back as the caveman. The “t” that is used as a cross in Christianity today was a symbol of Cock and was used in writing, communication, and art – and it was used that way until the symbol was “stolen” from us to represent their religion. There is evidence of Cock worship in Egyptian artifacts – and there is evidence in many Asian cultures that Cock was and is still revered and worshipped. In fact, the Phallus was seen this way throughout the world (not so much in the U.S. however).
When the catholic church came along there was set in motion a God vs. Satan divide and the heaven and hell fantasy was developed. This was the start of control and power over man – and the manipulation through religion. In “The Temple of Priapus”, we believe the power of God is seen and felt through the Cock – the Phallus. Through Cock, God lives, loves and breathes! We don’t believe “God” is the Judeo-Christian God. Nor do we believe He is Lord Satan. If those were our deities, it is my belief that BOTH of those entities have gotten a lot of bad rap over the years. The Christian God is a very vengeful “my way or the highway” God. And Satan has become the ruler of the Lake of Fire, with horns and a tail and an evil distorted face. I don’t believe either of those depictions is true – but I’m not a believer of this religion! We see God’s beauty and love and power manifested THROUGH Cock. He is not a Christian, Satanic, Muslim, Jewish, or any other religious God. He is our own God.
Personally, I embrace some Christian teachings AND I embrace Satanic teachings as well, and I welcome, with open arms, those that follow Satanic thought – as well as those that follow Christian teachings. MANY would cringe in the Temple if they knew that I took that stance, but I am telling you now, I do. I also realize that in saying this, not everyone will stay and listen to my explanation as to why I embrace my Satanic brothers, but I ask that you do. The “why” doesn’t matter to most that fear Satan and they run in fear away from the evil red man with a tail and his “demonic” powers. Personally, I find enlightenment through Satan and the freedom to “be” who and what I am. There is an inclusion in the teachings that I find marvelous!! Satanic beliefs are not fully evil or destructive. Satan (if you believe the stories) was a beautiful angel. Christianity also has some beautiful truths as well. In the same breath, I will also admit to and acknowledge that there is a dark path in Satanism as well – and I believe there is the freedom for anyone to seek that path – just as there is the freedom of christians (lower case on purpose) to seek the “right-wing fundamentalist” bullshit of Christianity. Both of those extremes are as equally devastating and destructive!!! They are both EQUALLY as evil as the other!!! And BOTH of those are NOT of God!!! Neither of these paths is paths that we follow or support within the Temple!
As we all know, there is evil in this world!!! And the evil is growing!!! But I will not blame the beautiful Satan for that – as many seek to do – nor will I blame the Judeo-Christian God for that either! Evil comes from the minds of men that seek to attain power and control, for and by themselves…and they seek to bring others along to join them. They are seeking to BECOME God…and they will go to any length to achieve that objective. Little do they realize that their lives are finite and they will end – and they will never become God! But that makes no difference to them. Sadly they will destroy others and anything in their path! But THIS IS NOT OF GOD – Satanic or Christian…or any other religion!!!!
So in order to answer the questions – and to bring understanding to The Temple – one would have to be under the assumption that “The Temple of Priapus” is based on Christian beliefs. That there is a Christian God and there is the evil counterpart, Satan. This is not true! We are not a Temple that is based on Judeo-Christian belief. So, our God who is Cock is not “Satanic” nor is he another form of “Jesus Christ”. Cock is God is God is Cock.
If the higher power that you believe in comes from God – or of Satan – Cock can, and surely could become a manifestation of that God or Higher Power. And because our human brains are limited as to what we can understand about the unknown and spiritual – perhaps this is the best we can do and the most accurate explanation that we can offer. We can certainly go down the path of mystics and spiritual explanations (but most individuals these days aren’t willing to take the time or energy for that) – so this is for the average man coming into The Temple off the street – who has never encountered much beyond Sunday School, Easter or Christmas – this is the best explanation I can offer to you. And you are the ones I hope to reach out to the most. If you are interested to delve into this further, I am absolutely willing to go down that road with you!
So, having said all of that, I reach down and I touch my God who has chosen me to be His carrier! And I pray! I worship! I love! I feel empowered! I feel the truth! I hope! I give! I receive! I know!
